Children's Homily and Children's Chapel

Children in Pre-K thru Second Grade are invited forward to the steps in the church after the Gospel reading for a Children's homily given by Sunday's preacher. After the homily, children go to Children's Chapel in the Choir room with our volunteers for their own story and singing time. They return in time for the exchanging of the Peace. Children's Homily and Children's Chapel occur at the 9 a.m. service only (10 a.m. service during the summer schedule).

Sunday School meets 10:15-11am starting September 10, 2017

Preschoolers and Kindergarteners meet in the classrooms above the Nursery with teachers using Godly Play to tell Bible stories and learn all about Jesus and God's love. Godly Play is a Montessori inspired program that allows children to wonder and self discover through play, beautiful wooden figures, and felt landscapes. Each Sunday the children will also "break bread" together during snack and typically do a craft that is centered on that week's theme. Since children may be in preschool for several years, the preschool Sunday school classroom has lots of children repeat until they are old enough to move over to the Kindergarten class. Children in the Godly Play classrooms will learn The Doxology as their memory work!
