Find Some Peace and Choir: A Candlelit Service to Soothe Your Soul

Compline is a service of scripture, chant, hymns, and candlelight that serves as a restful escape from the noise and conflict of today’s busy world. Sung just before bedtime, the brief (about 30 minutes) service comes from the ancient monastic office. The Compline Choir of men sings the service at St. John’s each Sunday evening. Please join us and invite a friend.

Each Sunday during the academic year at 8:00 p.m.

The St. John’s Compline Choir of Men

Membership in the Compline Choir is by audition. Auditions for new members are held twice annually in August and January. If you would like to audition at this time, please contact the director at the email address below.

Occasionally new members are added at other times of the year when there are openings for Countertenor, Tenor, or Bass singers. A candidate should have experience as a choral musician and demonstrate his ability to sing and to blend with the choir. The candidate must be willing to devote Sunday evenings to singing the service and make it a high priority. If you have an interest in becoming a member of the choir, please contact Mike Norris, Compline Choir director at norris.mr@gmail.com
