Offered each fall, this series is designed for those new to St. John's or for anyone who is curious to unravel mysteries of the Episcopal faith. This weekly gathering is led by the St. John's clergy team and covers topics such as the essentials of our faith, exploring prayer, liturgy, the Bible, baptism, and more. Attend a single week that interests you or join us weekly. Check out the church calendar for upcoming dates.
In the Episcopal Church, all baptized are members of the church, but to become a leader at St. John’s, one must “make a mature, public affirmation” of their faith before God, the bishop and congregation. Adult members prepare for baptism, confirmation or reception by attending Growing in Grace, a three-month course for adults on the basics of the Christian faith and the Episcopal Church. This course, led by clergy and lay leaders, typically begins January and meets for three months on Sunday evenings. A bishop from the Episcopal Diocese of Florida comes to St. John’s for a special service in the spring.
Small groups are a great place for spiritual growth and holy relationships. Made up of eight to twelve individuals (or couples), these groups meet monthly for prayer, conversation around a topic and fellowship. New groups for various ages and stages of life are formed each fall. We invite you to learn how you can get involved.
