Advent Luncheon with Julianne Clayton

December 6, 2021 @ 11:30 am - 1:30 pm

We hate to wait. We like our food fast, our lines short, our roads clear. We want our prayers answered, our expectations met, and our hopes realized. Waiting can be frustrating and it often leads to discouragement. The season of Advent is an opportunity for us to consider how God might be at work in our waiting, and to reflect on who we are becoming along the way. As we begin this season of anticipation, speaker and podcaster Julianne Clayton will share that, “Maybe waiting isn’t a waste and maybe how we wait, matters.”

Proceeds from the Advent luncheon benefit the local work being done by the International Rescue Committee

About Our Speaker:
Our speaker, Julianne Clayton, is the podcaster and speaker behind the Remind(Her) Podcast (julianneelaineclayton.com), the ultimate Podcast reminder to women with anxious hearts and distracted minds, who could use a reminder of who God is and who God calls us to be in the middle of it all.

In her words: “I know I am often anxious, distracted, and prone to forget. And that is why I think reminders are so important. Just as the practical reminders in our lives (appointment reminders, Facebook birthday reminders, calendar reminders, post-it note reminders) keep us on track and help us seemingly hold it all together, reminders of our faith give us hope, bring us peace, hold us steady, and help us live into and become the people God calls us to be. Those reminders are the heartbeat behind each word I write.”
