CANCELLED: The Blessing of the Animals

Everyone in Tallahassee is invited to join us at St. John’s on Saturday, September 28, at 10 AM, for the Blessing of the Animals, an event we hold annually close to the Feast of St. Francis. Bring your furry, scaly, and feathered friends! Please ensure pets are leashed or crated.

While there is no entry fee, we do have two door prizes! They are both beautiful, handmade quilts by one of our St. Francis Ministry members, Tracy. One is an adorable dog theme and one is a colorful cat theme.

All donations of pet food will be given to Elder Care Services. Proceeds from door prizes and cash donations will support the St. John’s Episcopal Church St. Francis Ministry activities and community-based pet-related services. Check out all the activities below:

• 11:00 AM – The Blessing of the Animals, with a brief blessing service and individual blessings of the animals and a Pet Memorial Service.
• Each pet blessed will receive a St. Francis medal.
• There will be several booths and adoptable animals all along Call Street.
• The door prize drawings of a dog quilt and a cat quilt will be held immediately following the blessings.
• There is NO entry fee, but we encourage you to bring bags of dog/cat food to share with Elder Care Services.
