Every summer since 2014, St. John’s has offered a way for youth to come together and serve in our community. Youth B.E.A.T, which stands for Youth Being Extraordinary Around Tallahassee, has sent young people to a variety of partnering organizations over the years. This summer, we will be offering two single-day Youth B.E.A.T. service opportunities and two week-long volunteer opportunities at our summer camps. CLICK HERE for all of the information.
MONDAY, JUNE 12
ST. JOHN’S CEMETERY CLEANUP
Join us for a morning of service at St. John’s Historic Cemetery. Our team of youth will be working with a group of dedicated parish volunteers who maintain this space so it can remain for generations to come. Established in 1840, our cemetery is one of the earliest Christian burial sites in Florida. Ministry leaders will provide some background about this sacred property and then put our team to work cleaning the gravestones and weeding and beautifying the cemetery grounds. Drop-off and pick-up will be at St. John’s, and we will walk as a group to the cemetery (corner of Call St. and MLK Blvd.).
Volunteer Age: Rising grades 6-12
Time: 8 to 11 AM
Service Hours: 3 hours
