About Us

The Front Porch welcomes people along all paths who seek to deepen their spiritual lives. We offer contemplative practices, events, and classes rooted in Christian spirituality. Most of these offerings are held at St. John’s Episcopal Church, whose mission it has been to house a spirituality center serving church members and the larger community. Just as you are invited to join us on The Front Porch to enter deeper conversation about prayer and spirituality, you are also welcome at St. John’s to belong, grow, serve, and center.

Below are some recommended events on the church calendar in fall 2023. Whether you visit for weekly worship, stop by the bustling Lively Café, attend a class through The Front Porch, or enjoy a Tallahassee Bach Parley concert, you are welcome at St. John’s!

BLESSING OF THE ANIMALS
Sunday, October 1 at 3 PM

St. John’s holds a pet blessing each year on the Sunday closest to the Feast of St. Francis. All members of the community are encouraged to bring their furry, scaly, and feathered friends! We meet near the Korean War Memorial at Tallahassee’s Cascades Park. Please ensure pets are leashed or crated. Refreshments will be provided.

ST. JOHN’S HOLIDAY MARKET
Saturday, November 18 from 8 AM to 2 PM

Do your Christmas shopping and support local charities at the same time! The annual St. John’s Episcopal Church Market is an old-fashioned church bazaar, raising funds for activities of the parish and for local non-profit organizations. There’s also a preview party (the evening before Market), a silent auction, and the best chicken pilau in North Florida! All are welcome. No admission fee for our Saturday events.
