Feast Day of Absalom Jones (observed)

February 11 @ 10:00 am - 11:15 am

St. John’s is pleased to announce that on Sunday, Feb. 11, we will once again hold a joint service with St. Michael and All Angels to celebrate the Feast of Absalom Jones. The Rev. Absalom Jones was the United States’ first African-American ordained to the priesthood in the Episcopal Church.

Last year’s beautiful service hosted at St. John’s held much meaning for so many in our shared Episcopal community. This year, St. Michael and All Angels will host, and as an act of unity with our brothers and sisters, St. John’s will close its doors on this day and joyfully join our brothers and sisters at St. Michael and All Angels for 10 a.m. worship. There will be no 8 Am or 10 AM services or Sunday School at St. John’s this day. Join us instead at St. Michael’s at 10 AM. The service will also be livestreamed.

Parking can be limited, so we highly encourage everyone to carpool. Feel free to meet in St. John’s parking lot and head over to St. Michael & All Angels. Click here for directions to St. Michael & All Angels.
