St. John’s Episcopal Church is a historic downtown parish in the capital city of Tallahassee. We are a people who joyfully and continually seek to grow through worship, study, and fellowship as we become who God has created and calls us each to be.
We profess God’s love for every human being and welcome all people regardless of age, race, income, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. St. John’s believes that God loves all – no exceptions. And together we continue to build that legacy.
St. John’s offers vibrant worship, a bustling café, and meeting spaces open to the public. We joyfully extend hospitality to all and compassionate service to our local and global neighbors.
Come and join us for services on Sundays and Wednesdays and for fellowship and education during the week. We offer a variety of classes, groups, and opportunities for all ages and households to meet your spiritual needs. We hope that each visit to St. John’s is welcoming to you whether you have been a lifelong Christian or it is your first time entering a church.

When you arrive, you'll be greeted at the door and given a bulletin to guide you through the service. Our worship is rooted in Scripture, prayer, music, and Holy Communion, drawing from the rich traditions of the Episcopal Church while warmly welcoming everyone.
Whether you're new to church or have been attending for years, we hope you'll find a place to encounter God and experience true belonging.
The official church address is on North Monroe Street. However, most people enter at the Calhoun Street entrance or through our welcome plaza off Call Street.
The St. John’s parking lot (click for directions) is on the corner of Calhoun and Call Streets and street parking is available on a limited basis on the adjacent blocks. On Sunday mornings, the spaces along Calhoun Street are reserved for those with disabled parking permits. There is a covered ramp located near the welcome plaza off Call Street, which is easily accessed from our paved circular driveway. Visitors and parishioners are invited to use the driveway to drop off those with mobility concerns. There are also benches for waiting and resting.

St. John’s welcomes everyone, which means you’ll see folks dressed for a hike after church as well as those in a coat and tie. You are welcome to come exactly as you are!
Our dedicated nursery space is located on the first floor of our main building and we offer childcare during our Sunday morning services. We also provide childcare during times where the whole parish is invited to gather. Our nursery is staffed by trained childcare workers and is equipped for the needs of infants starting at five months to five-years old. Pagers are provided for parents as they sign their children in. This allows us to connect if there is a need while the children are in our care. We delight in working with children of all ages during their visit to St. John’s -- providing materials for coloring and tools for learning about God’s love!
Our sanctuary also contains "Busy Bags" that you are welcome to pick up to keep your little ones busy during service. We know children get the wiggles and we want you to know that they are welcome at all our services.
At St. John's, we believe the Church is a place of deep roots, true belonging, and abundant grace. If you're looking for a church home, we'd love to walk alongside you as you take the next step in your faith.
You can become a member of St. John's through Baptism, Confirmation, Reception into the Episcopal Church, or by transferring your membership from another Episcopal congregation. If you've been baptized in another Christian tradition, we joyfully recognize your baptism and will never ask you to be baptized again.
Throughout the year, we offer opportunities to learn more about the Christian faith, the Episcopal Church, and life at St. John's. Whether you're exploring Christianity for the first time or have been part of the Church for years, we're here to help you find your place in our parish family.
