Visit St. John’s

St. John’s Episcopal Church offers daily worship, a bustling café, and meeting spaces open to the public. We are a downtown church that joyfully extends hospitality to our members and the community and compassionate service to our local and global neighbors. We are an inclusive church that seeks to embrace all of God’s people using the time, talent and treasure with which God has blessed us.

Come and join us for services on Sundays and for fellowship and education during the week. We offer a variety of classes, groups and opportunities for worship to meet your spiritual needs. We hope that each visit to St. John’s is welcoming to you whether you have been a lifelong Christian or it is your first time entering a church.

About the Service

When you arrive for worship, you will be welcomed by a greeter who will hand you a bulletin, our guide to the service you are attending. St. John's services are traditional but not stuffy. Each service is grounded in Biblical readings, powerful music and Holy Eucharist.

Where to Park

The official church address is on North Monroe Street. However, most people enter at the Calhoun Street entrance or through our welcome plaza off Call Street.

The St. John’s parking lot (click for directions) is on the corner of Calhoun and Call Streets and street parking is available on a limited basis on the adjacent blocks. On Sunday mornings, the spaces along Calhoun Street are reserved for those with disabled parking permits. There is a covered ramp located near the welcome plaza off Call Street, which is easily accessed from our paved circular driveway. Visitors and parishioners are invited to use the driveway to drop off those with mobility concerns. There are also benches for waiting and resting.

What to Wear

St. John’s welcomes everyone, which means you’ll see folks dressed for a hike after church as well as those in a coat and tie.

Childcare (Nursery)

Our dedicated nursery space is located on the first floor of our main building and we offer childcare during our Sunday morning services. We also provide childcare during times where the whole parish is invited to gather. Our nursery is staffed by trained childcare workers and is equipped for the needs of infants starting at five months to five-years old. Pagers are provided for parents as they sign their children in. This allows us to connect if there is a need while the children are in our care. We delight in working with children of all ages during their visit to St. John’s -- providing materials for coloring and tools for learning about God’s love!
