St. John’s is celebrating Fourth of July with a discussion about our beautiful country, specifically the Apalachicola River and environmental stewardship. Join us for Coffee Talk when Fr. Wallace introduces a previously-recorded discussion with two guest speakers who will talk about the vital work being done to protect the Apalachicola River, and the responsible use and protection of our natural environment.
You can join us in person in Killeen Hall, or via Zoom (link below), for a “deep dive” into this local treasure!
OUR SPEAKERS:
Georgia Ackerman, Apalachicola Riverkeeper
Georgia will take us on a journey through the Riverkeeper’s efforts to protect the river and will share results of the recent US Supreme Court ruling on Florida v. Georgia lawsuit over water in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Rivers Basin.
Cameron Barton, St. John’s parishioner and river enthusiast
As a two-time RiverTrek participant, Cameron will describe her personal connection to the river and her extensive advocacy endeavors.
