Earth Day: Apalachicola River

St. John’s is celebrating Earth Day with a discussion about the Apalachicola River and environmental stewardship. Two guest speakers will talk about the vital work being done to protect the Apalachicola River, and the responsible use and protection of our natural environment. Join us for a “deep dive” into this local treasure!

Georgia Ackerman, Apalachicola Riverkeeper
Georgia will take us on a journey through the Riverkeeper’s efforts to protect the river and will share results of the recent US Supreme Court ruling on Florida v. Georgia lawsuit over water in the Apalachicola-Chattahoochee-Flint Rivers Basin.

Cameron Barton, St. John’s parishioner and river enthusiast
As a two-time RiverTrek participant, Cameron will describe her personal connection to the river and her extensive advocacy endeavors.
