Advent Lessons & Carols

This annual holiday service heightens the expectancy of the Advent season! Let’s celebrate together with the Advent Procession, the reading of scripture, and the singing of Advent carols, hymns, and anthems. The pre-service recital (details below) will be held at 5 PM, and the service begins at 5:30 PM.
All are invited to enjoy a dessert and champagne reception after the service in Alfriend Hall.
Childcare is provided from 5- 8 PM.
About the Service: Choral music includes selections by Gerald Near, Ralph Vaughan Williams, André Thomas, J. S. Bach, Michael Bedford, Herbert Howells, and Giovani Palestrina. A prelude organ recital will be presented by Ariana Corbin, a first-year student in the Doctor of Music in Organ Performance program at FSU, studying with Dr. Iain Quinn. Corbin currently serves as the Director of Music and Organist at The Episcopal Church of the Advent in Tallahassee. The recital will feature music by J. S. Bach. Felix Mendelssohn, William Cooper, and Andrew Carter.
