Pledging at St. John’s

At St. John’s, we believe giving is an act of faith. It is one of the ways we respond to God’s abundant grace with grateful hearts, investing in the worship, formation, pastoral care, and outreach that shape our life together. Every pledge is a step toward the future God is calling us to build together.

In recent years, St. John’s has embraced the Consecration Sunday model of stewardship. Rather than focusing on budgets or financial need, Consecration Sunday invites us to reflect on the spiritual practice of generosity and the joy of giving. Each fall, we gather for one combined 10:00 a.m. worship service followed by a festive Celebration Luncheon, where everyone is welcome. During worship, parishioners are invited to make their annual financial commitment as a joyful act of thanksgiving. Your pledge remains completely confidential, and there are no home visits or fundraising campaigns.

To Grow One Step, reminds us that generosity is not about reaching someone else’s goal—it is about faithfully taking the next step God is inviting each of us to take. Whether you are making your first pledge, increasing your giving, or continuing a long tradition of generosity, every step is an expression of gratitude that strengthens both your own faith and the ministry we share.

As you prayerfully consider your commitment, we invite you to reflect:

  • What percentage of my income is God calling me to give?
  • What would it mean for me to grow one step this year?

And now for the most Frequently Asked Question: What’s the difference between a PLEDGE and a GIFT?

A pledge is your intention to give a specific amount to St. John’s over the coming year. It helps the parish faithfully plan and steward the ministries God has entrusted to us. A gift is any contribution you make to St. John’s. Gifts may be one-time donations or recurring contributions, and they may be applied toward fulfilling an existing pledge.

Each pledge, each gift, and each faithful step helps St. John’s continue to put down Deep Roots, foster True Belonging, and share Abundant Grace with our parish, our neighbors, and the world.

is life abundant.
