The Saint John’s Bible, Heritage Edition is coming to St. John’s this fall.
In 1998, Saint John’s Abbey and University in Collegeville, MN commissioned renowned calligrapher and artist Donald Jackson to produce the first hand-written, hand-illuminated Bible to be created in over 500 years. As part of our upcoming Year of the Bible, we invite you to join us and explore this unique work of art that combines ancient monastic traditions with the technology and vision of today.
Thanks to the passion and generosity of several anonymous donors, we will host, on loan, the Gospels and Acts volume for an entire year on our campus. With plans underway to use this Bible in worship, study, small groups, events, and workshops, we invite you to take part in this incredible opportunity. All will be welcome to learn, touch, and see the Saint John’s Bible so be sure to check back here on our website for calendared events, as well as an online form where you can request time with the Bible. We will link you with a trained Docent who will be your guide.
Prepare to be swept off your feet!
