Spring 2021 Children’s Ministry

The St. John’s Children’s Ministry has planned a fun lineup of Spring 2021 events for little ones and their families. Read on for information on our weekly gatherings, monthly and seasonal events, and a special class for our first graders that prepares them to take on a more involved role in the life of our parish.

A full schedule of dates for CHILDREN’S MINISTRY EVENTS can be found on our church calendar.

SATURDAY MORNINGS:

The St. John’s Children’s Ministry will spend Saturday mornings from January through April discussing compassion, serving, and inviting others to experience God’s love for themselves. Events will be held weekly from 9:30-10:00 a.m. in Eve’s Garden on the St. John’s campus. Children, grades five and younger, are invited to bring a parent for games, activities, crafts, and stories related to our three themes. Gatherings begin on January 23.

CLUB 45 GATHERINGS:

Club 45 is our monthly gathering for fourth and fifth graders. Activities are always grounded in prayer, scripture and they’re a whole lot of fun! Join us on the fourth or fifth Sunday of the month, beginning at 4 p.m., for fun and games in Eve’s Garden. Club 45 events are currently planned for January 31, February 21, and March 28.

FESTAL EUCHARIST CLASS:

We have consolidated our traditional class for first graders into a semester’s worth of activities on Saturday mornings. First graders and their parents are invited to St. John’s from 9:00-9:30 a.m. for a half hour of activities before our weekly Children’s Ministry gatherings. Classes are designed to introduce children to all aspects of the Episcopal tradition and prepare them to celebrate their Festal Eucharist on Sunday, May 2. Classes begin on Saturday, January 23.

Family-Friendly Ash Wednesday Service

St. John’s offers a family-friendly service on Ash Wednesday. While it’s designed to appeal to children and their families, this service is open to all ages and will answer the questions people have about this important day on our church calendar. Come receive Holy Eucharist, learn why we receive ashes, and what Lent is all about.

Saturday, April 3
Easter Egg Gathering

All children grades 5 and younger are invited to an Easter gathering and storytelling event on Holy Saturday. Come gather in Eve’s Garden to learn about Easter, then receive your Easter treats!
