Ash Wednesday 2021

On Wednesday, February 17, we will begin the season of Lent together with worship and the imposition of ashes. As our foreheads are marked, we are reminded that we belong to God and we wear the ashes as a sign of repentance. We invite you to join us at St. John’s:

INDOOR SERVICES: Both our 7:00 a.m. and 12:10 p.m. Services of Holy Eucharist will be held in the church, where we will limit seating to 25 percent capacity per our regathering guidelines.

LIVESTREAMS: The 12:10 p.m. service will be streamed live on our website and YouTube for those at home. Afterwards, the stream will be available for viewing throughout the day.

OUTDOOR OFFERINGS: Ashes to Go will be available at St. John’s this year. Stop by at your leisure to receive ashes and spend a few moments in prayer with our clergy.

Again this year, we will offer a family-friendly Service of Holy Eucharist at 5:30 p.m. While designed with our younger parishioners in mind, this service is open to all ages and explains why we receive ashes and what Lent is all about. This year, our service will be held outside in Eve’s Garden.
