Staffing Updates – Dec. 2021

Below is a staffing update from the Rev. Abigail W. Moon, St. John’s Interim Rector:

I am delighted to share that you will see two new faces in ministry here at St. John’s.

Beginning December 1, Angela Shelley will join the St. John’s staff working with Adult Education and Pastoral Care in a part-time capacity during this interim period. Angela brings with her an extensive background in Christian formation and a gift for encouraging people on their faith journey. While she has a Master of Sacred Theology from Yale University and a Master of Divinity from Emory University, Angela has lived in Tallahassee before and has returned home to be closer to her family.

She has served on a parish staff in New Haven, CT, in roles from Parish Administrator to running the Episcopal Service Corps ministry for young adults in New Haven. She also served as a hospital chaplain, meeting families where they were in various life situations. Angela has a passion for teaching the youngest and oldest of the congregation and we are delighted she will be joining the staff during this interim time.

A familiar face will be joining our Sunday morning worship team! Pat Garner will be assisting us in worship as she continues to prepare to be a deacon. You will soon see her at Sunday services processing the Gospel, and setting and clearing the altar during the liturgy. Pat is well on her way to becoming a deacon and we are delighted that she, too, can assist St. John’s in this way at this time.
