Welcome to Realm - St. John's Episcopal Church

Desmond Tutu once wisely said that “there is only one way to eat an elephant: a bite at a time.” What he meant is that everything in life that seems daunting, overwhelming, and even impossible can be accomplished gradually by taking on just a little at a time. The same principle applies to learning new technology tools like Realm, St. John’s upgraded membership and financial software. Since there is much to see and do with Realm, we will start off simply – a bite at a time!

On Friday, July 30, all church members should be on the lookout for an important email from Realm with an invitation to start using the upgraded version of our very secure membership and financial software. Once logged in, you’ll be able to easily manage your personal information and privacy settings! Below are samples of what that email invitation may look like.

Simply follow the link in your email and create a password. Then, join us this Sunday, August 1, at 11:15 AM, at Coffee Talk, when the St. John’s staff shares how our parish will use this upgraded software. Our number one priority is connection to God, self, and other, so come learn how Realm will help us all stay informed and connected. We’ll also provide beginning instructions on how to download and use Realm on a mobile device. If you’re ready to take that next step now, read on. Otherwise, we’ll see you at Coffee Talk!

REALM ON MOBILE DEVICES:

Realm replaces St. John’s previous member and financial software, ACS, and the “Realm Connect” mobile app takes the place of the Church Life app. When logged in to either the desktop or mobile interface, members will be able to access and edit their personal contact information, privacy settings, and view their giving history. Below is a quick “getting started” tutorial for mobile devices. Our staff will walk you through Realm on desktop computers during Coffee Talk.

DOWNLOADING THE MOBILE APP

On your phone or tablet, access Google Play or the App Store and download the “Realm Connect” mobile app. Once the app has downloaded, log in with the email address your Realm invitation was sent to, and the password you just created. Then follow the directions below to view your profile or giving information.

VIEWING YOUR MEMBER PROFILE

Android Users – tap on the three lines in the top left corner on the main screen. This will open the menu. Scroll down to tap on “Profile.” iPhone Users – click on the “More” button with three dots above it. Scroll to find the “Profile” option.

You should now be seeing all of the contact information St. John’s has for you! If you tap on the pencil icon next to your name, you can make changes and adjust your privacy settings. Under your email address, you will see an arrow that allows you to select who you would like your contact information to be seen by. Choices are “anyone in the church,” “anyone in your groups,” or “church staff only.” Follow this same process for your phone number and your address. Remember to press “Save” at the top when you’re done!

VIEWING YOUR GIVING INFO

Android Users – tap on the three lines in the top left corner on the main screen. This will open the menu. Scroll down to tap on Giving. iPhone Users – click on “Giving” at the bottom of your screen.

Now, you can look at your giving information! First you’ll see that you can make a one-time gift under “Give Now.” You can also tap “Pledge” to see your current Pledge status. Or tap “History” to see all of your Annual Giving.
