There are multiple opportunities to serve and assist at every service offered at St. John’s. Perhaps you’d like to be trained to be a greeter, or read at a service, or volunteer behind the scenes as a part of the altar guild (preparing for every service), or assist at the altar as a chalice bearer or acolyte. There are always opportunities to help during worship -- on Sunday or during the week.
Jesus is always reminding us to go out into the world taking what we have received to those we meet along the way. A Eucharistic Visitor takes the bread and the wine from services at St. John’s and shares them with those who cannot physically come to church. With training and clergy direction this special ministry connects all of our members together as the body of Christ.

Have you ever wondered what happens to the beautiful altar flowers each Sunday? Our Flower Guild creates the arrangements, and we have a team of people who disassembles them after services and rearranges the flowers into bouquets for delivery to parishioners and community members who are celebrating life events or just need just a visible reminder that their church is loving them right where they are.

A prayer shawl is made by hand with love, blessed at our altar, and sent out into the world to celebrate a birth or be wrapped around someone in their time of uncertainty. We would love to teach you a few skills or learn from your expertise if you have been crafting for years! The group gathers weekly on Tuesday mornings for conversation and knitting.

Do you love interacting with people or do you enjoy the delightful aroma of good food? You will be delighted to know that our Lively Cafe is staffed by volunteers. Under the guidance of our Culinary Director, you can be trained to greet and take orders, assist in completing orders and interact with those who might be visiting the cafe for the very first time!
Do you enjoy cooking? The Angel Meal Ministry helps provide meals for those who have a short-term need after a death in the family, a hospital stay, or simply a time when having a meal provided is a gift from an angel. Clergy members work with the Angel Meal Ministry to provide guidance and support.

Do you enjoy peace and quiet? Do you like gardening? We would love your help at the St. John's Historic Cemetery, where a group of dedicated volunteers meets regularly to remove vines from tombstones, pick up trash, and trim vegetation around the family plots, service roads, and fences. The group also helps coordinate maintenance of cemetery grounds around this historic church property. Join us to lend a hand ... or your green thumb!
